Microsoft Research, Cambridge UK

Everything I Know worked with Microsoft Research, Cambridge’s Socio-Digital Systems group. Through workshops and mentoring we helped the group of mainly non-designers engage in the design process and reflect on their own practices.

Over the past six months Rory Hamilton has worked with final year students on their major projects, encouraging experimentation and refinement of a wide variety of works. From integrating wind turbines into a service scenario to looking at detailed interactions between nursery teachers and infants, the students on this exciting course have achieved great results.

Rory Hamilton has seven years experience as Course Leader and researcher at the Interaction Design Department at the Royal College of Art in London. Here he was responsible for, tutoring, curriculum development and organisational aspects of this unique two year course for post-graduates. Briefs for student projects covered such subjects as 2D and 3D interface design, niche user design and service design. Rory still retains strong links with staff in the RCA and the many students he taught during this exciting time.
